What is Permanent Makeup?

Also referred to as Permanent Cosmetics, Cosmetic Tattooing, or Intradermal Pigmentation. It is the process of safely implanting natural pigments into the dermal layer of skin for lasting color.

Is it the same as a Tattoo?

It is a form of tattoo, although different techniques and pigments are used. The equipment for the facial permanent makeup is also different than that used in traditional body art.

Does it hurt?

A topical anesthesia is used as needed to help pre-numb and numb the areas to be treated. This helps to alleviate any minor discomfort you may experience during the procedure. On a scale of 1 to 10, our goal is to keep the pain threshold below '2'. However, every person has a different pain threshold and level of tolerance.

Are there any health concerns?

People with a history of cold sores need to pre-medicate with an anti-viral drug (Zoviraz, Valtrex, or Acyclovir) prior to a lip coloring procedure. Any active skin condition such as exema, psoriasis, or cystic acne in the area must have clear skin in the area being addressed at the time of the procedure.

How long does a procedure take?

Usually, each procedure appointment is approximately four hours. The majority of the time is spent in selecting the appropriate color for your skin, measuring and artistically drawing on the planned procedure prior to actually implanting the color. Adequate time is allowed for topical anesthetic to make you completely comfortable. Videos, pictures and consent form will be completed at this time. You will also be given thorough aftercare instructions for optimum healing and outcome.

Can I have lips and eyebrows done at once?

Yes, more than one procedure can be done during the same session. In fact, one advantage is that your aftercare for both areas are all done at once. Another advantage is bundled discount!

What factors affect how long the color lasts?

The individual's skin type, how dark the original color is, sun exposure, use of exfoliating skin-care products, and lifestyle (e.g., swimmer).

How should I prepare for my permanent makeup session?

Do not drink alcohol or caffeine 24 hours prior to your appointment
Do not take aspirin, vitamin E, ibuprofen, or other blood thinners 72 hours prior to your appointment
Botox should be done 2 weeks before

Who is a Candidate?

Individuals with vision deficiency who have difficulty applying makeup
Sparse or light hair on brows
Hair loss due to aging or alopecia
Individuals with busy schedules
Allergies to conventional makeup
Correction of asymmetrical facial features or scarring
Diminished or no natural lip line
Individuals who desire convenience, saving time & saving money
Individuals who wish to look their best all of the time!
Adding symmetry and color enhancement to facial features

Who is NOT a Candidate?

Individuals under the age of 18
Women who are pregnant or nursing
Individuals with any kind of skin condition on or near the treatment area
Eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis or any one of these skin conditions may compromise the surface and texture of the skin. Procedure performed on skin with these type of condition may have sub par results and advised against getting permanent makeup.
Individuals with viral infections, diseases or bleeding disorders
Individuals who have any allergic reactions
Individuals who have any Autoimmune Diseases
Individuals undergoing Chemotherapy/Radiation
Individuals with epilepsy or a history of seizures
Individuals sensitive to bright lights
Individuals with back or neck injuries. Please note we will do everything to accommodate your lying position at the time of procedure however you must endure holding the position for a long period of time.
